Hey you — yeah, you. Cingular 8525, you know the one, right? Ok, and the BlackJack? The i607? Right, those two hype HSDPA WinMo handsets are now officially for sale, $400 and $200, respectively, after two year contract (with unlimited data) and rebates. Just save some for the kids, ok? They’re tired of getting coal in their stockings because of your sick device addiction.

  1. The Champagne Buffet team allowed me a to preview the blackjack and I really liked it. It honestly didn’t feel very 3G (with my comparison being EVDO from Verizon, I know, not apples-apples), but did send multimedia pictures fast. The IE browser in these things isn’t as CSS friendly as the real thing, no? It also doesn’t have a flash.

I’m not so sure about Windows Mobile on a phone – the whole wait for things to happen thing is a little reminiscent of the Alan Cooper concept of “what happens when you cross a computer with an x, you get a computer, not an x.” I think I still just want a phone.

All of that aside, I would totally get one, except for the fact that the phone whose name shall not be spoken is coming soon, allegedly. That will cause me to put all purchasing conceptions on hold. All the shots are called in Cupertino these days.
